Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's elder brother and TNL Chairman Shan Wickremesinghe said that the government was moving in the wrong track and that its action makes way for a number of future problems.

Speaking to the Silumina newspaper, Shan Wickremesinghe said that he has already spoken on this matter with the Prime Minister.

Shan Wickremesinghe also said that he does not want to obtain any favors from the government for his company. The Television media in the country is moving aimlessly, he also said.

Shan Wickremesinghe is known as the individual who introduced the television to Sri Lanka. He established the Independent Television Network, ITN, in 1979. It was confiscated by the government within two months.
