The 17-year-old schoolboy who was earlier arrested for the hacking of the website of the President on two consecutive days was put under the supervision of probation officials while under the custody of his parents, who are his guardians.

This order was given by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya when the magisterial inquiry on the hacking was heard today.

It was also revealed that the hacking was done on the instructions of a Bangladeshi national.

The website was hacked on two consecutive days, on August 25 and 26.

The first hacking was done by a Sri Lankan individual or group who posted a message in Sinhalese. The second hacking was claimed to be the work of a Bangladeshi.
