Jaliya Wickramasuriya, Former Sri Lanka Ambassador to the United States who was arrested and remanded on charges of misusing state funds during the tenure of the United People’s Freedom Alliance led government has been remanded.

Colombo Fort Magistrate ordered Wickramasuriya to be remanded till 16th of December.

Bail application was also filed for the release of the Former US Ambassador today thus the decision on the bail application will be announced at the next hearing.

He was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) Wednesday on charges of financial fraud last month.
