Former General Secretary of the UNP, Tissa Attanayakeis to be produced before Court today. He is remanded on charges of forging documents. 

The Colombo High Court ordered the Attanayake to be remanded at the previous hearing.

The petition was filed by Tissa Attanayake calling for his release on bail will be taken up for consideration at the Appeals Court today.

Accordingly, the Attorney General was issued notice to appear before Court to produce details on the matter.

Attanayake petitioned the Appeals Court to dismiss the order for his imprisonment and to release him on an appropriate bail condition.

Attorney General was informed by Court to file objections pertaining to the petition today.

Former Minister is currently in remand custody on charges of releasing forged documents via media during the period leading up to the 2015 Presidential Election.
