The G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination begins today. Over 700,000 candidates will sit for the Examination at 5,400 centers island-wide. About 40 thousand members of staff will be deployed for exam duties. Commissioner General of Examinations Jayantha Pushpakumara says stern action will be taken against the students who violate regulations at the GCE O/L examination this year. Using mobile phones and electronic appliances and such gadgets has been totally banned. The commissioner general of examination department Jayantha Pushpakumara further said those who found guilty in violating the rules and regulations will be dealt with. The candidates who violate the regulation will be banned from the center. The examination results of those students will not be released.
