Membership of the newly created Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has been reserved for the SLFP MPs in Parliament including those in the Joint Opposition, sources within the Sri Lanka Podujana Party said.

However, the MPs will not assume membership at the moment as it could lead to them losing their present positions.

The SLFP MPs especially in the Joint Opposition have come to an agreement where they will work with an understanding with the new party.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is expecting to attract several UNP MPs as well, sources also said.
