The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Police arrested Brigadier Anura Deshapriya Gunawardena today for involvement in the Rathupaswela shooting.

Three other army officers were previously arrested in relation to the shooting that killed three civilians during a peaceful demonstration for clean drinking water, in August 2013.
