UNP Yet To Act On Ananda Aluthgamage Who Obtained Membership With Sri Lanka Podujana Party

December 21, 2018

The United National Party is yet to write to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya on the MP Ananda Aluthgamage's parliamentary seat.

Aluthgamage, who was elected to Parliament on the UNP ticket, obtained membership with the SLFP after a snap Parliamentary election was announced.

The UNP claims that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa should not be allowed to continue as an MP Parliament on the grounds that he no longer represents the party from he was elected.

However, the party is yet to act on its own MP Ananda Aluthgamage.

Aluthgamage went on to accept a deputy ministerial portfolio in the purported government led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
