Failed Sri Lanka Cricketer Sachith Pathirana Likely To Be Recruited As Spin Bowling Coach Of National Cricket Team

Plans are underway to recruit failed Sri Lanka cricketer Sachith Pathirana as a spin bowling coach of the national cricket team of Sri Lanka.

The 30-year-old cricketer is still playing domestic cricket in Sri Lanka with a brief unsuccessful stint in the international cricket arena.

In 18 ODI matches, Pathirana has only obtained 15 wickets at an abysmal average of 48. He was ruled out of the national squad due to his mediocre performance in international cricket.

Pathirana's father, a cricket adminisrrator in the Central Province, is known to be a close ally of former Sri Lanka Cricket Chairman Thilanga Sumathipala.

Sumathipala is the 'de facto' head of Sri Lanka's cricket administrator although he does not officially hold any position in the cricket adminitsrative body.
