The Health Ministry's update at 12.05 AM 9th May indicated that NO COVID-19 cases have been reported yesterday (8th May)

The official statistics stated that eight people left hospitals yesterday having recovered from the disease.

Many described yesterday as a "good day" as the daily count of COVID19 patients surpassed 20 over the last few days.

However, 824 patients have contracted the disease in Sri Lanka.

Nearly 5000 people are currently in quarantine centres run by the military.
