Coastal Line Train Delay Persists After Derailment Incident

Train services along the coastal line continue to experience delays following a derailment incident between Colombo Fort and Kompannaveediya railway stations last evening, as reported by the Railways Department.
The incident involved an express train bound for Kalutara South. Currently, one line has been reopened for train traffic, while repairs are ongoing on the other line. Although preparations for trains heading towards Colombo have been completed, services from Colombo to the south remain suspended since yesterday, with no trains returning.
