The government has announced a significant increase in allowances for Grama Niladhari officers, effective April 01, 2024.
The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has forwarded a circular to all District Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries regarding the adjustment. Within Municipal Council limits, the monthly office allowance has been raised to Rs. 3,000, while within Pradeshiya Sabha limits, it stands at Rs. 2,000. Additionally, the annual stationery allowance has been boosted to Rs. 3,000.
