Plantation Workers to Stage Strike Over Wage Hike Demand

Plantation workers in Sri Lanka are set to commence a strike tomorrow, April 22, as they rally for higher daily wages.
Despite President's directive to increase wages to Rs 1,700, plantation companies have reportedly resisted the move.
Nuwara Eliya District MP Palani Digambaram affirmed the Tamil Progressive Alliance's full support for the strike, citing it as a response to the companies' refusal to comply with the presidential order.
