The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Forum (SLCERT) has swiftly acted to eliminate counterfeit websites resembling the official Post Department's platform. Senior Information Security Engineer, Charuka Damunupola, disclosed that 05 fraudulent websites have been successfully taken down from the internet. However, amidst this intervention, Damunupola cautioned the public, revealing that 35 instances of financial fraud have been reported due to individuals accessing these deceitful websites.
This proactive measure aims to safeguard users from falling victim to online scams orchestrated through imitation platforms.
