Hambantota International Port welcomed two luxury cruise ships on May 15, 2024. MV Silver Cloud, owned by Silversea Cruises of the Royal Caribbean Group, arrived from Cochin with 232 passengers. TUI’s Mein Schiff 5, coming from Langkawi, brought 2,434 passengers.

Passengers from Mein Schiff 5 participated in an e-bike tour to explore Hambantota, part of the port’s green initiative to promote eco-friendly tourism.
