Airport Scuffle Involving Sri Lankan State Minister Under Investigation

Bandaranaike International Airport was the scene of an alleged altercation involving State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera and an airport employee, prompting an investigation by Sri Lanka's airport police. CCTV footage of the incident, which occurred as Ranaweera's wife was departing from Katunayake Airport, is currently under review by authorities.

The footage reportedly captures the minister physically confronting the employee near a wall. The confrontation stemmed from a dispute over a 2000 rupee fee demanded by the employee for transporting a suitcase to the passenger terminal, which Ranaweera considered unfair. No formal complaint has been filed yet, but the police are proceeding with their probe based on the video evidence.
