Rakna Lanka Removed From Hambantota Port

Sri Lanka Ports Authority has decided to remove Rakna Araksha Lanka Limited (RALL) from security duties at Hambantota port.

Hambantota port had 107 personnel from RALL on duty. SLPA had paid Rs 3.3 million monthly to RALL, BBC Sandeshaya said.

RALL personnel say that this decision to terminate their service was a politically motivated one.

Meanwhile a top official of SLPA told BBC Sandesyaka that the services of RALL were terminated due to several shortcomings in recent months.

Established in October 2006 Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL) is a Sri Lanka Government owned business undertaking in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence to provide security services.
