Protests Held In Britain Against President Sirisena

Members of British Tamil Forum (BTF) rallied in London yesterday (09) against the visit of Sri Lanka President Maithripala Srisena to Britain as Commonwealth Chair-in-Office.

The protesters highlighted the fact of President Sirisena served as acting defense minister five times during the war.

Because of that not only former president Rajapaksa but the current president also should take the responsibility of ‘killing and raping thousands of Tamil men and women’, they claimed.

Two more rallies are also planned against Sri Lankan President in London, reports said.

President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister David Cameron today.
