People Need To Be Reminded Of Rajapaksa's Misdeeds: Tilvin Silva

The public should be reminded again about all misdeeds and corruption done under Rajapaksa regime, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna General Secretary Tilvin Silva said.

Addressing a public rally recently, Silva stated that Rajapaksa is trying to act like an innocent new born baby.

“In the mornings Rajapaksa visits prisons to check on the well-being of his friends. In the evenings he goes to temples around the country and engages in religious activities. People who don’t have a survival without his name are gathering around him for these journeys. He is acting as a newborn baby and tries to make us fools as well.” he added.

Meanwhile, Silva also said that there were a number of obstacles hindering the passing of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.

He said that the SLFP still has no consensus on the 19th Amendment. Sometimes, the leaders of the party state that they support it. However, within days, someone of the party declares that they are against the amendment, Silva said. He added that he could not figure out whom to believe or what to believe.

“Who is the leader of SLFP, is he President Maithripala Sirisena or any other force outside the party?” he questioned.
