Gotabaya Rajapaksa Summoned To FCID

Former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa was summoned to Financial Crimes Investigations Division on May 11.

He was asked to appear at the FCID to record a statement on the controversial MiG deal and an issue of shares at Lanka Hospitals.

Rajapaksa recently settled a case filed against Sunday Leader newspaper over a report on the MiG deal. However, police said that it is conducting a separate incident on the matter.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris on March 17 directed the Financial Crimes Investigation Division to conduct an investigation into alleged financial fraud that took place at Lanka Hospitals during the chairmanship of Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
