JVP Proposes One Voter To Be Given Two Votes

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna said that the voters should be given an opportunity to vote for both an individual candidate and also a party of their choice in separate ballot papers.

Speaking at a press briefing in Colombo today, JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Hearth said that the people have a write to have an elected member for their constituency. Meanwhile, the voters can also cast their vote for a party if he or she thinks that party is better suited to govern the country, Herath pointed out.

He added that the party had already made these suggestions during the discussions on the electoral reforms.
