Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena was seen shopping for shoes at a shop, along with other 'ordinary' people. Sri Lankan politicians rarely move around in public places in this manner at present. However, there was a time when MPs traveled to parliamentary sessions in trains and went for walks in Colombo like any other person. Perhaps Sirisena is trying to lead by example.
