Supreme Court Justice Sarath Abrew refused to give a statement to Police over an alleged assault of a housemaid, Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told Asian Mirror.

 

The woman who was allegedly assaulted filed a complaint with Mount Lavinia Police on June 26. She told police that she had been assaulted with a pistol. She is receiving medical treatment at Colombo South Teaching Hospital at Kalubowila.

 

Meanwhile, the Police has recorded a statement from another housemaid at Abrew's house.

 

The Mount Lavinia Police is investigating the matter.
