Apply For Temporary Identity Cards Before August 10, Elections Department Advises

Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya made a request from all voters who do not have a valid identity card to apply for a temporary identity card before August 10.
 
The Commissioner of Elections announced that National Identity card, valid passport, valid driving license, Government pensioner’s identity card, senior citizen’s identity card, identity for clergies, temporary IDs issued for the Presidential Election on January 08 and re-validated temporary IDs issued for last PC elections are the valid ID cards accepted at polling booths for the upcoming General Election on August 17.
 
The Dept of Elections said that individuals who do not have any of these valid identity cards could meet the relevant grama niladhari or superintendent of the estate and apply for a temporary identity card with two photographs of required size.
