Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva stated that he sacrificed the Prime Ministerial post entitled to him to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and became the ‘Sirisangabo’ of Badulla.

 

Speaking at a public meeting in Welimada, de Silva said that he believes that he will be given a powerful ministry to serve the people, in compensation to the sacrifices he made.

 

SLFP stalwarts made immense sacrifices to bring back Rajapaksa to politics, de Silva said. The UPFA will win the forthcoming election with no difficulty, he argued, claiming that the UPFA is leading by 10 percent in opinion polls.
