Former Civil Aviation Minister Arrives At Presidential Commission

Former Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) premises at BMICH to give a statement on several alleged financial irregularities in SriLankan Airlines.

He was due to appear at the commission with former SriLankan Airlined head Nishantha Wickremasinghe.

However, Jayaratne informed the commission that he was due to leave the country in the next few days and requested the commission to allow him give a statement today.

Jayaratne is the current State Minister of Law and Order and Prisons Reforms. He is a UPFA MP from Puttalam District.
