Veteran journalist Christy Mahesh De Silva passed away on Tuesday evening.

He had collapsed while attending a wedding reception in Hikkaduwa and had passed away while being treated at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

A journalist with over 20 years experience in the print media industry, De Silva worked as a journalist at Divaina, Lakbima and Rivira newspapers during the course of his career. He was a member of the Rivira editorial at its inception in 2006. At the time of his untimely passing, he was a member of the editorial at Dinamina newspaper.
