The Ceylon Bank Employees Union has planned for a protest demonstration near the Fort Railway Station at mid-day today.

The CBEU launched a strike today to protest against the budget proposals.

More than a hundred unions had planned to launch an island-wide strike today against the budget proposals. However, following a special statement by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday, the other unions called off the strike.
