Following the decision to add a Grade 6 extra classroom at Royal College, Colombo, the Grade 5 Scholarship exam 2015 cut-off marks are expected to be changed, the Education Ministry sources said.

The Education Ministry recently found out that Royal College has one more classroom in Grade 7 than in Grade 6. The Ministry instructed the school to add a classroom for Grade 6 and give the additional space to the Grade 5 scholars.

Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam confirmed this at a recent press conference, where he announced the immediate transfer of Royal College Principal Upali Gunasekara to the Ministry.

The Ministry is also investigating if other schools have extra classrooms in a similar manner.

The new cut-off marks are expected to be released by next week.
