Eleven individuals including six monks arrested for the protest at Homagama Magistrate's Court on January 26 were further remanded till March 1 by the Homagama Magistrate yesterday.

They are in remand custody on alleged contempt of court, since they are suspected of being part of a protest at a Magistrate decision to remand Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera.

Gnanasara Thera is also in remand prison over threatening Sandhya Eknaligoda, wife of disappeared journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.
