CID Not Present For Thilina Gamage's Case

The CID was not present in the case against former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage and two others for the unlawful possession of an elephant.

The three suspects were present when the case was taken up for hearing by the Gangodawila Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne yesterday. The case was fixed for the next Magisterial Inquiry on August 8.

The suspects are out on bail currently. On June 2, Thilina Gamage was released on bail over the case.

The case involves the elephant calf named Sakura estimated at a value of Rs 6.9 million. The calf was discovered from Gamage's residence in early 2015.
