The no-confidence motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake was defeated today by a margin of 94 votes.

145 PMs voted against the motion while only 51 voted for it. 28 MPs were absent.

The 'Joint Opposition' presented the no-confidence motion against Karunanayake citing economic mismanagement and misrepresentation of facts.
