More Opportunities For Sri Lankan Troops In UN's Peacekeeping Missions: State Defense Minister

State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardena is attending the UN's Peacekeeping Summit which is being held in London. The Defence Ministers from many countries attend the event. The summit was inaugurated under the patronage of British Prime Minister Theresa May. It will run for four days.

The event will discuss on strategic planning to be carried out to make peacekeeping missions more successful. The UN is currently implements peacekeeping missions in 16 countries. Minister Ruwan will elaborate on skills of Sri Lankan tri forces in case of combating terrorism. He will also share the country's experience of decades long war. He also expects to obtain more opportunities for the Sri Lankan troops to be part in peacekeeping missions.
