Island-Wide Operation "Yukthiya": Security Forces Arrest 1,229 Suspects in 24-Hour Blitz

In a sweeping 24-hour operation spanning the entire island, security forces have apprehended a total of 1,229 suspects as part of the ongoing initiative "Yukthiya." The operation, spearheaded by the police, is a concerted effort to crack down on criminal activities and curb the illegal drug trade.

The Ministry of Public Security reported that the operation concluded at 12:30 am today, resulting in the arrest of a substantial number of individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities.

During the operation, security forces seized a considerable quantity of illicit substances, including 440 grams of heroin, 260 grams of 'ICE' drugs, and 417 narcotic pills. The confiscation of these narcotics, according to the police, is seen as a critical step in disrupting the drug trade network, preventing the distribution of harmful substances, and safeguarding communities.
