Litro Gas Prices Surge: Domestic LP Gas Costs Rise Effectively Today: 12.5kg Cylinder Now Costs Rs. 4250

Consumers in Sri Lanka are facing an increase in the cost of Litro domestic LP gas, with new prices taking effect from today. Muditha Pieris, Chairman of Litro Gas, announced the adjustments, citing various factors contributing to the surge in prices.

The revised prices are as follows:

  • 12.5 kg Cylinder: Increased by Rs. 685, reaching Rs. 4,250.
  • 5 kg Cylinder: Elevated by Rs. 276, now priced at Rs. 1,707.
  • 2.3 kg Cylinder: Saw an increase of Rs. 127, bringing the cost to Rs. 795.

Muditha Pieris clarified that the upward adjustment in prices is influenced by factors such as global market fluctuations, increased operational costs, and other economic considerations. The price hike comes at a time when the global energy landscape is experiencing volatility, impacting the cost of fuel-related products.

Consumers relying on Litro domestic LP gas for household needs may feel the financial strain brought about by the price increments. The announcement has prompted discussions about the overall cost of living, particularly for households heavily dependent on LP gas for cooking and other domestic purposes.
