The Fundamental Rights petition filed by former UPFA MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena challenging his arrest was rejected by the Supreme Court a short while ago.

 

Sajin de Vass Gunawardena filed a Fundamental Rights petition with the Supreme Court on June 11.

 

In the petition, he asked the Supreme Court to direct the Fort Magistrate Court to release him on bail.

 

Gunawardena is currently in remand custody over allegedly misusing 23 vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat.
