The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi managed to win the Jaffna District comprehensively, polling 207,577 votes (69.12%). The ITAK won 5 seats out of the 7 seats in Jaffna District.

The EPDP led by Douglas Devananda managed to poll 30,232 votes (10.07%) and won one seat. Meanwhile the UNP managed to obtain one seat with 20,025 votes (6.67%).

The UPFA received 17,309 votes but failed to obtain a seat.
