The UNP won the Polonnaruwa District, polling 118,835 votes (50.26%). The UNP managed to win 3 seats for the district.

The UPFA managed to win only 2 seats. The party received 103,172 votes.

Meanwhile, the JVP obtained only 13,497 votes and failed to win any seats.
