All rounder Thisara Perera is to captain the Sri Lankan team in the T20 series against Pakistan. 

The Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the players who had opted out of the 3rd T20 in Lahore, would not be considered for the T20 series. 

T20 Captain Upul Tharanga, Dinesh Chandimal and Lasith Malinga have already pulled out of the series. 

Kusal Janith Perara, who was tipped to lead the side earlier, failed a fitness test prior to the series. 

It is against this backdrop that the Committee of Selectors have decided to appoint Thisara Perera the captain.
