Heavy Showers Forecasted Across Multiple Provinces

 

The Meteorology Department has issued a weather advisory indicating that several areas across the island can expect heavy showers or thundershowers, particularly in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, and Central provinces after 2.00 p.m. Additionally, scattered showers are predicted for Northern, North-central, Uva, and Eastern provinces during the same period.Anticipated rainfall could reach up to 75mm in some locations within Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts. Residents in these areas are advised to be vigilant against potential flooding and to take necessary precautions.

Moreover, misty conditions are forecasted in select areas of Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts during the morning hours.The public is urged to exercise caution and undertake preventive measures to mitigate any risks associated with temporary localized strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
