SLFP Special Meeting: Committee Appointed To Decide On Rajapaksa Nomination Dispute [Audio]

Parliamentarians of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party decided to form a committee to decide on giving ensuring the unity of the party and the dispute on giving nominations to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, UPFA Kalutara District MP Kumara Welgama told Asian Mirror.
 
The committee, appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena is comprised of John Seneviratna, Dilan Perera, T. B. Ekanayake, Kumara Welgama, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Susil Premajayantha.
 
Meanwhile, Welgama also pointed out at the meeting that Rajapaksa will definitely contest the next election. As a strong SLFPer, he does not want the party to be destroyed, Welgama also said.
 
Meanwhile, Welgama also revealed that most of the SLFP MPs pushed for giving priority to the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister over the 20th Amendment. Only Lakshman Seneviratne supported giving precedence to the 20th Amendment, Welgama said.
